Pumpkin Spice Look Makeup Tutorial

Fall is officially here, and so is Pumpkin Spice everything! For the past few years, pumpkin spice season has been a popular staple in fall trends. From pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin spice seasonings, to even pumpkin spice-themed makeup (literally EVERYTHING). Pumpkin Spice makeup has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years, so we had to put together our own makeup look interpretation of this ever-so-popular fall trend using Red Apple Lipstick products.
What is Pumpkin Spice Makeup?
If you have not heard of this trend before, you may be wondering what is pumpkin spice makeup. What does a pumpkin spice makeup look consist of? It is makeup using colors/shades inspired by pumpkin spice, which is a spice mix that is most commonly used to make, of course, pumpkin pie. This mix consists, in general, of a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and allspice. So, think of warm tone shades like oranges, reds, and browns, even golds and coppers, when choosing eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick shades.
It’s easy to do and it looks stunning. Also, it’s a lot of fun! We have put together some of RAL’s beautiful shades of eyeshadows, blush, and lipstick that will perfectly fit this pumpkin spice makeup tutorial. This easy-to-follow makeup tutorial will be perfect to do for both day and nighttime during this fall.

Eye Makeup
Step 1- Prime the Lids
Let’s begin by prepping the lids using the Prime Time Eye Shadow Primer. Apply a tiny amount all over the lids, up to the brow bone. Let it dry for a couple of minutes before applying eyeshadow. Once the primer has dried, you can set it with a bit of setting powder if you would like. Doing this helps eyeshadows blend even more smoothly.

Step 2- Base Color
Next, apply a base color on the lids. Apply Porcelain eyeshadow using the Wet/Dry Eye Brush, or a similar brush, all over the lid taking it up to the brow bone. (If Porcelain eyeshadow is too light for you, feel free to use another eyeshadow shade that is closer to your skin color.)
Step 3- Transition Shade
Now take the Crease and Blend Brush, or a brush similar to it, and apply Like U Latte eyeshadow onto the transition area (the area just above the crease and just below the brow bone). Use windshield-wiping motions to blend that out well.

Step 4- Outer Lid Corner and Crease
With the Crease and Blend Brush, apply She’s Spicy eyeshadow on the outer corners of the eyes – the outer lid. Use both circular and windshield-wiping motions to blend that out, taking it into the crease (the folded area above the eyelid). Then take a bit of Like U Latte eyeshadow to blend and soften out the edges of She’s Spicy.

Step 5- Lid Shade
With the Wet/Dry Eye Brush, now apply Sugar & Spice eyeshadow to the center and inner third of the lids, taking it close to the inner corners. You want to make sure to blend Sugar & Spice into She’s Spicy in the outer corner for a smooth transition. If you need to, you can always add some more of She’s Spicy eyeshadow to darken the outer corners.

Step 6- Highlight the Eyes
Highlight the eyes by applying Buttercream eyeshadow on the brow bone and the inner corner of the eyes, on the tear ducts.

Step 7- Lower LashLine & Lid
Using the Crease and Blend Brush, apply She’s Spicy eyeshadow across the lower lashline. Blend out with Like U Latte eyeshadow using windshield-wiping motions all the way across.

Step 8- Line the Eyes
You now want to line the eyes. Apply Cocoa Eyeliner Pencil to the lash line, then use the Vegan Angled Eye Brush to smooth it out after applying and wing it out a bit. Next, darken and set your liner with Espresso eyeshadow by applying it on top using the same brush.

Step 9- Mascara
Complete the eyes by applying The Lash Project Mascara. Apply 3 to 4 coats for a beautiful, slightly dramatic, lash look.
Face Makeup
Step 1- Base
Apply your base makeup as normal. As the weather starts to cool down, we do suggest using more moisturizing base products. Choose something that is not too glowy or shiny, but still with a radiant finish.
*Step 2 (optional)- Brows
Fill in your brows if this is part of your routine. We suggest using a powder, such as an eyeshadow for a more natural look. Choose a shade that is close to your hair color but nothing too dark. For more on how to go about filling in the eyebrows, make sure to check out Andrea’s tips.
Step 3- Bronzer
Apply Sundrop Bronzer using the Blush Brush to add some warmth back onto the complexion. Lightly dust on the areas where the sun would naturally hit- across the forehead, cheekbones, side of the nose, and chin.

Step 4- Blush
To continue the Pumpkin Spice theme, apply a peach/orangey shade of blush, such as Tango, for a healthy flush of color. If you have a darker/deeper skin tone, Good Vibes blush is also a great choice. Apply your blush using the Blush Brush.

*Step 5 (optional)- Setting Spray/ Face Mist
You can set your finished look with a setting spray to help keep everything in place and help your makeup stay looking fresh longer. Or you can also use a face mist instead to help all the powder products melt into the skin and give a more natural, skin-like finish to the makeup look.
Lips
Step 1- Prep the Lips
Moisturize the lips before applying lip color by applying a light coat of the Rallye Balm, which also helps to prep the lips. Let that soak in for a couple of minutes.
Step 2- Lip Color
Finish your look by applying Spice ‘N Easy lipstick. This lipstick shade complements the eye look beautifully and fits in perfectly with the Pumpkin Spice theme.

Will you be rocking the pumpkin spice makeup this fall? We hope you give it a try. This easy to create look will certainly turn heads and enhance your natural beauty no matter your age. Share your thoughts on this makeup trend and this pumpkin spice makeup tutorial in the comments below.
