This primer is the best way to eliminate mid-day eyeshadow creasing or disappearing acts. It will also provide a solid color base for your eyeshadows to be applied on top of, which allows the shadow to really shine. Our primer corrects any discolorations or veins on your eyelids (heaven forbid we have veins or redness on our eyelids right?!). Let’s call this a creamy powder consistency. It isn’t a liquid, it isn’t a cream, it isn’t a powder, it’s somewhere in between.

How To Apply:

With clean and dry eyelids, use your pinky finger and get a SUPER SMALL amount of the primer on your finger. Gently, apply from your clean finger all over your eyelid and anywhere else you want.

I like to use a cotton swab and apply under my eye (where the purple skin is) and on blemishes.

NOTE: Make sure not to use too much! This is a product that should last you a very long time. Using too much on your eyelid will result in creasing, and that is quite the opposite of the intended effect.

  1. 2 out of 5 Doesn't keep eyeliner in place

    Unknown

This product does not keep my black eyeliner bold or in place. By the end of the day, my eye shadow isn’t creased, but there isn’t much left.

  2. 2 out of 5 Didn't work for me

Unfortunately, Prime Time did next to nothing to combat my creasing. I
have very oily eyelids and somewhat hooded creases, so creasing is a
major problem for me. Prime Time gave me, at most, a couple of hours of
wear before really bad creasing started.

The other issue for me is the ingredients. This is still miles above
mainstream primers, but not quite as clean as I would like to see.

  3. 2 out of 5 Great premise; doesn't live up to hype

I really wanted to love this product, but after repeated tests I can’t really justify adding this step to my morning makeup routine. I expected this product to even out the color of my lid and add wear time to my shadow, make it stay put longer. It does even out the color on my lid, but not without some extra stretching of the delicate skin trying to get the cream on, even with just patting it on, due to what it took to blend it well. Then I found that I had to change eye cream because it really wasn’t working with what I was using. The shadow disappear in several hours when used on top of that eye cream. A change in eye cream got the shadow to last longer, but no longer than the eye without the base on it, as I only did one eye in repeated tests, leaving the other eye without the base cream for comparison. The only difference I could tell between the two is a slight difference just below the brow where I don’t wear shadow…if you looked hard you could tell that base cream had lightened that area. That’s it. That’s the only difference I could tell between my two eyes, and that lasted only for a few hours and then was no longer visible. I’m disappointed this did not work as I had hoped, but you have many others who seem to love it, so my disappointing results probably won’t matter.

  4. 2 out of 5 Not what I was hoping for

    Kim

It appears that I am the only person that wasn’t wowed by this product and I was so excited to try it.

For me, it did nothing to correct my lid discoloration and veining. The
first time I tried it , the product itself creased within minutes of
application and I used very little. I hadn’t even applied my eye shadow
yet! After shadow application, I had 2 hours of wear time before
creasing occurred – and my lid discoloration showed though. My
eyeshadow, including my normally “bullet-proof” waterproof eyeliner were
completely gone! This product seemed to dissolve them.

I didn’t want to give up on this product so the next day I applied a
dusting of transparent powder on top of the primer to see if that would
help. As far as wear time it did. Instead of 2 hours before creasing I
got 4 hours. Better yes, but far short of what I need and expect from an
    eye primer.

I love my other RAL products (lipstick, gloss and eye shadows), but this
was a real miss. The most positive aspects of this product for me are
the company that produces it, and the non-toxic ingredients it contains.
Sadly, this is not a keeper and I will continue searching for my HG eye
primer. I so hoped it would be this one.
