This primer is the best way to eliminate mid-day eyeshadow creasing or disappearing acts. It will also provide a solid color base for your eyeshadows to be applied on top of, which allows the shadow to really shine. Our primer corrects any discolorations or veins on your eyelids (heaven forbid we have veins or redness on our eyelids right?!). Let’s call this a creamy powder consistency. It isn’t a liquid, it isn’t a cream, it isn’t a powder, it’s somewhere in between.

How To Apply:

With clean and dry eyelids, use your pinky finger and get a SUPER SMALL amount of the primer on your finger. Gently, apply from your clean finger all over your eyelid and anywhere else you want.

I like to use a cotton swab and apply under my eye (where the purple skin is) and on blemishes.

NOTE: Make sure not to use too much! This is a product that should last you a very long time. Using too much on your eyelid will result in creasing, and that is quite the opposite of the intended effect.

I have tried a number of different products from RAL that have worked out wonderfully, but sadly I had difficulties getting this one to work as I would end up with creases. As the instructions state use a “super small” amount, so I tried that first. When that didn’t work, I tried using a bit more product & experimented with different techniques but still no luck. I do have very oily skin, so that might have something to do with it.

  2. 3 out of 5 It's ok primer

I like how this primer cancels out my dark eyelids, covers veins but, unfortunately, it does crease on me.

I really, really wanted this to work to prevent my eyeshadow from accumulating in the creases. I used it a few times and although it was significantly better at keeping the shadow in place, I still had the creasing issue. I think I have finally figured out why. I use oil to clean my face in the morning (coconut). There is probably some amount of oil remaining on my skin even though my skin doesn’t ‘feel’ oily. (I no longer use any commercial soaps or shampoos.) It is possible that maybe applying a face powder over everything first, then proceeding would help. But I haven’t found a powder I’m happy with yet.

  4. 3 out of 5 Use Sparingly Is The Trick For Best Results

    Shelly

If I use very little it works the best. If I used too much I found it collecting in my creases of my eyes. My eye shadow isn’t staying on as long with it. I used it as a concealer as well it worked pretty good, My skin is dry mostly, but not so much on top of my lids. I did try it with and without lotion and of course the lotion made the results worst. I will still continue to use it as a concealer.

  5. 3 out of 5 Nice to use something safe :)

Here is what I have found about this primer: I love how it goes on
smoothly but I would love to have an applicator with it! I noticed how
well the eyeshadow goes on with it AND it does not take as much
eyeshadow to cover the eyelid. That IS a plus.

I have checked my eyes mid day, two days in a row and I do see an
eyeshadow line in the eyelid crease. Maybe I’m applying too much. This
is a bit of a bummer, BUT having something safe to use is better than
nothing. You are doing a great job with your product line! I’m a big
    fan and customer!!

  6. 3 out of 5 not as impressed as I expected to be

    beth

I have always had a hard time with creasing when wearing eye shadow, even with eye primer. I was excited to try this one because everything I’ve purchased from Red Apple has exceeded my expectations. I wouldn’t say this is a bad product by any means, but, at least for me, it’s just not any better than others I’ve tried. I guess the upside is that it is made with safe ingredients and that’s worth a lot.
