- gloss girl
Paris wears on me exactly how I wanted Berry Blast to work. I used almost my entire tube of Berry Blast. It's a great color. But the sheer base color is such a good my-lips-but-darker color match, that it almost immediately looked like I was wearing a sheer balm with gold shimmer. Which is still a total look- just not what I was looking for. (For context, I'm a neutral-toned zero on the melanin scale, with dark blonde hair & a strong pink as my natural lip color; Melissa, above (gal with the hat), is my color match save for her eyes.) I'm slowly replacing everything that long-since expired because pandemic, but dramatically scaled down compared to my previous dragon hoard. One of the gaps I realized I still had was lacking a non-purple-based berry tone, bright enough for spring & summer, but not too punchy as to overwhelm my paleness. On me, Paris is the perfect shimmery pinky-strawberry smoothie I was looking for for spring & summer. And since the shimmer is tonal- that is, it's the same berry color as the lipstick- it doesn't skew warm or cool as it wears down, either. I think for autumn & winter I can use a slightly purpley lip liner to take it from spring/summer berries to more of a plummy wildberry, like it looks in the tube. Found a winner!
My favorite lipstick
Excellent! The color is buildable and soooo hydrating. It has a nice sparkle that doesn’t make the lipstick grainy.
Love this lipstick
Really like the color and texture.
No Paris For Me
While the lipstick goes on smoothly, the color wasn't pretty. I was excited that it was supposed to sync with a person's natural lip color. Unfortunately, it is quite purple on me. Back to the drawing board.
Night out or vacation?!
Although I'm usually a gloss girl, and this has more "pop" than that, I really liked it! Now to find a man to take me to Paris, with my Paris on! (Dinner would be nice, too, though! 🙂 )
